Todos somos Valencia

The catastrophe in the form of floods caused by the DANA in Valencia has left us with our hearts in our throats. Not only because of the event itself but also because it hits very close to home. There are many riders, audience, and staff from the Comunitat Valenciana who come every year to Vigo to enjoy O Marisquiño.

Thus, we immediately stopped everything, started collaborating, and requested collaboration through our channels. A collaboration that is still needed 15 days later. You can find some initiatives -still active- in this article from Treintayseis.

The solidarity of Vigo makes us proud. Just as do all those friends of O Marisquiño that we have seen these days dedicated to helping the most affected communities. One of them is Danny León, who headed to Valencia (from Madrid) along with his friend David Gegundez with two vans loaded with supplies, and they are daily collaborating in the distribution of food and essential products, as well as cleaning the streets.

He has also been around, just arrived from the Red Bull Rampage, Bienvenido Aguado (from Barcelona). He was in Algemesí and, in addition to moving cars and distributing supplies, he reminds us that "this is a long-term situation, there is work to do for years and we shouldn't forget it."

There is also the great Fhire, who lives in the Comunitat Valenciana, who continues to document everything that happens in the places where he is collaborating and explaining how, by helping the community, great families are created. This is the case with the bond that has been created with these women.

If you want to hear one of the raw testimonies about the day of the catastrophe, you can watch the video of Oriol Inglada, another good friend of OM who now lives in Valencia. He survived because he - and 150 other people - found a two-story dealership where they took refuge while the water and mud swept everything away. He has also been documenting how the streets are, cleaning them, and helping the population recover from this harsh blow.

From O Marisquiño, we have no choice but to encourage you to continue helping and to wish that all these people and everyone affected in general can go through their mourning in the best way possible and gradually resume their lives and normality. We are all Valencia.
