The festival

From 2001 to the present day, O Marisquiño has become the largest Urban Culture and Action Sports event in southern Europe with four World Cups among its activities: Skateboard (WCS), BMX (UCI), Dirt Jump (FMB) and Basket 3x3 (FIBA) for which the best national and international riders meet. Great open-air and free festival in mid-August and on the seafront that brings together more than ten sports competitions as well as different cultural events during its three days.

For 2022 all the action returns to Vigo and the festival will feature events for Skateboarding, BMX, Flatland, Basket 3x3, MTB Downhill, Dirt Jump and Break Dance in addition to live music, graffiti, and much more.

The festival will take place on the second weekend of August and as per every other year, more than 160,000 people will enjoy the competitions, exhibitions, concerts, gastronomy and the unique atmosphere that buzzes around Vigo’s Harbour. Also in 2022 O Marisquiño expands throughout the city and will host some events in different areas, the skateboarding competition will take place on Samil beach and the Basketball 3X3 in the recently opened shopping centre of Vialia.

Last but not least, we want to remark that O Marisquiño has arrived in more than fifty countries around the World through online live streaming.

WHERE ARE WE

Vigo (Pontevedra). O Marisquiño has its centre at the Vigo seafront, extending throughout the port and very close to the city's historic district, making this space a hallmark of the festival. In an area of 150,000 square metres, the great contests of the festival take place by the sea: on the Paseo de las Avenidas, the Transatlantic Dock, the Náutico and the Espigón. The different sports areas and cultural activities have a spectacular set-up along this privileged area between the Ría of Vigo and the city. Vialia, the main point of arrival for young people in Vigo and a shopping centre; and the Samil beach, with views of the Cíes and one of the iconic elements of the city, will also host some of the action this year.
