Street Art
In this new edition of O Marisquiño Street Art moves from the center of Vigo to Samil Beach to gather with the other disciplines, making the beach the essential center of the event.
Behind the Village and in front of the Verbum Museum is the new Graffiti area presented by Montana, which will consist of a large wall on two sides, almost 10 meters long each, where the invited artists will leave their graphic work in the form of murals that will be painted from Friday the 9th to Sunday the 11th.
The two confirmed artists for #OM24 are Bubblegum, a Galician muralist based in Barcelona with large format pieces spread around the world, and MrDheo, a street artist from Porto who has been painting walls since the year 2000.
Once again, we partner with Montana Colors (MTN) for this discipline, a pioneering company in the production of aerosol paints for graffiti that has become an international reference brand in the urban art scene. With its innovative approach and high-quality products, MTN has not only provided urban artists with exceptional creative tools but has also significantly contributed to the establishment of graffiti as a legitimate and respected form of artistic expression.
Prior to this action, on Thursday the 8th, graffiti workshops for children and young people will take place in the same area, where they will receive advice from writers of the #OMBrigade, courtesy of Montana.
Street Art will be present not only in this fenced-off area behind the Village but will also be visible in other spaces of the venue. On the one hand, as every year, the giant World Cup Skateboarding skatepark will be illustrated by a large graffiti piece created by the #OMBrigade, a design that becomes more spectacular each year and will showcase its full strength on Thursday, August 8th, when the competitions begin.
There will also be space for Garnier's action on the sides of the Mini Half, where the Galician artist Mon Devane will leave their mark on this iconic O Marisquiño infrastructure.
Graffiti has also been the absolute protagonist of the new graphic image of this 2024 edition, thanks to two Galician artists, Nano4814 and Sekone, who have worked together to design a series of images for the event's various disciplines. They used techniques and colors to create stickers reminiscent of the skate and graffiti world of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
