Adaptive SkateboardingBio
Nick Mullins, a rising star in the Detroit skate scene, nearly died when he contracted MRSA (a very difficult-to-treat staph infection) due to a road accident and lost his vision in the process. But he didn't let that stand between him and what he loves: skateboarding. "The Halfpipe was always my favorite. That day I wasn't even thinking about falling or getting hurt, I just wanted to make it to the other side." With the help of some muscle memory, dedication, and surrendering to the flow, Nick has returned to his old tricks, literally. Masterfully filmed and edited by Nicholas Maher, he stars in the 11-minute mini-documentary "You and the Thing that You Love", an excellent inspiration for thousands of people, including Tony Hawk, who recently posted a video showing Nick Mullins delivering along with some words of admiration.
