#OMTOPSHOTS 2025: Lino Escuris
Lino Escuris has been photographing Marisquiño since 2019 and never gets tired. Not even after covering 93 kilometers - that’s what his watch says - with a backpack on his back. “The photos get better with each passing edition,” he stated last year. And he is right. This comes from someone who has lived the evolution of the festival from the inside, from its beginnings focused on BMX —his specialty— to daring today to take on everything that comes his way. And to create a gallery like this:
With published works in media such as El País and projects with prestigious international brands, Lino understands visual narratives. This year, he set a personal challenge: “To capture a sunset photo on the basketball court.” It was the first year of the 3x3 in Samil and he didn't have a single one yet. The fog didn't make it easy on the first day, but the image came through. And it's in his Top Ten. When Lino sets his mind to something...
Even so, what impacted him the most at OM25 wasn't the sun, nor the bikes, nor the concerts. It was the BMX Adaptive by Fundación BIMBA Y LOLA. “What a lesson in overcoming obstacles these kids gave me,” he says still emotionally. “Seeing them on the bike, giving it their all, regardless of limitations, left me in shock.” Lino gave everything to ensure that each photo captured not just the trick, but the story behind the rider. “I put all my energy, attention, and heart into it. I believe that shows in the result.” We couldn't agree more.
