La inclusión, un pilar del 25 aniversario de Marisquiño

La inclusión, un pilar del 25 aniversario de Marisquiño

The 25th edition of Marisquiño will once again give visibility to athletes with functional diversity by featuring an adapted skateboarding competition, now also including BMX. The festival thus strengthens its commitment to accessibility and inclusion, again in collaboration with the Fundación BIMBA Y LOLA, an organization dedicated to inclusion and positive impact through art, culture, and sports.

This time, international riders of BMX Adaptive will compete on the same BMX Freestyle circuit that hosts the festival's official competition. A space designed for each participant to move freely, choose their line, and demonstrate that creativity, technique, and style know no limits. The ambassadors of this discipline will be the Spaniard Juanje Trujillo and the Colombian Julián Molina, who will participate in the event alongside other specialists like the Czech Tereza Tomákova and the Colombian Miguel Forigua.

At the same time, the Samil skatepark—completely renovated this year—will again be the stage for the OM25 Adaptive Skateboarding, with a proposal that mixes intensity, emotion, and spectacle, which delighted the audience in last year's edition. With the Galician Marcelo Lusardi returning as the ambassador of the discipline and the confirmed participation of Brazilians Daniel Amorinha, Vini Sardi, and Italo Romano (winner at OM 2024), as well as the French Clement Zannini, among others.

Both competitions will take place between Saturday and Sunday (though training will begin on Friday) and will feature an invitational format. As a new element, it will combine with the Open category to expand participation and build an even stronger community. Additionally, as occurred in #OM24, the awards will be equitable and a focus will promote diversity and sports excellence, without forgetting the inclusion objective that must always be present in any sports competition.

MORE INCLUSION

The commitment to the integration of O Marisquiño has sparked the interest of the production company Café Media, which will record a short documentary, "Beauty," that discusses sports and integration with the festival as a backdrop. The project aims to be presented at film festivals, both national and international.

Additionally, Gallos del Norte is celebrating on Friday the Freestyle People Day, the first inclusive freestyle in history, which will include not only talks, dance shows and musical performances of various kinds, but also a pioneering freestyle tournament featuring artists of all kinds, with and without functional diversity.

INCLUSIÓN 🤝 MARISQUIÑO
