FMX
WHAT
Freestyle Motocross (FMX) started in the United States in 1996, when motocross and supercross riders wanted to break the barriers of their sport and take it further by performing tricks on the largest jumps of the circuit. After 10 years, it arrived in Spain, one of the first exhibitions held on the peninsula took place in Galicia, specifically at the Plaza de Toros de Pontevedra in 2006, thanks to the Vigo-based company Dagan Off Road.
The management of Marisquiño understood the great potential of FMX and introduced it in 2010, becoming part of the festival until 2018 when it was discontinued due to space issues. However, the discipline left a significant mark on the city of Vigo, and for the 25th anniversary of the festival, Freestyle Motocross will be back with an innovative show.
WHERE
The space for the FMX will be located next to the Big Air, at the north end of the Samil venue right after the Radio Control circuit. It will occupy an area of approximately 2250 m2, featuring an impressive setup of two jumps that will measure 250 meters long, making this one of the few events in Europe with this configuration of two jumps in line.
HOW
The format of the FMX competition for OM25 will consist of two daily runs (Saturday and Sunday, lasting 40 minutes) in which the audience will decide as a popular jury which rider wins each run. The winner of each round will receive a helmet as a trophy, and the rider who accumulates the most helmets over the weekend will be declared Marisquiño 2025 champion.
When
From August 8 to 10, the final schedules of the FMX at OM25 are pending confirmation.
