World premiere of the short documentary BEAUTY in Milan
BEAUTY, the documentary short film about adapted BMX and skateboarding shot during the 25th anniversary of Marisquiño, was presented on January 29th in Milan as part of the RARE event, organized by Goodbase Studio. Directed by José del Corral and Eduardo Muñoz, and produced by Café Films, the short offers a direct and honest look at adapted sports through action, movement, and the beauty of tricks, without filters or condescension.
During the discussion after the screening, the audience expressed their excitement about discovering how special these athletes are, highlighting the emotional power of the film, the beauty of the images, and phrases like “the difference makes the difference”, which resonated with special intensity among the attendees. The speakers agreed on a key idea: on screen, they did not see disability, but sport, tricks, talent and an unbeatable atmosphere. The difference, they pointed out, was not in the body, but in the perspective.
The meeting featured Fran López Reyes, producer and screenwriter of the documentary, alongside Alessandro Ossola, Andrea De Beni and Alice Tampalini, members of Bionic People, who shared various experiences around the concept MOVE, the central theme of the event, understood as the right, freedom, and possibility to occupy space without asking for permission.
The presentation also served to unveil the two official posters of the film, designed by Goodbase Studio, which accompanied the premiere and reinforced the visual identity of the project.
Beauty is set to begin its journey through festivals across Europe, including Spain, and will soon pass through the city of Vigo, home to the Festival that hosts the protagonists of this unique and exciting work.
