TopShots Marisquiño 2026: Dani Vázquez
For Dani Vázquez, working as a photographer at Marisquiño 2026 felt like closing a circle. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, he was one of those who spent hours in Plaza de la Estrella, experiencing the festival from the outside. More than a decade later, he returned to do it from the inside, also sharing work with some of the people he had already crossed paths with back then.
Although his camera moved through different disciplines over the weekend, for these #OMTopshots we’re focusing on music (and maybe another day we’ll show you the rest). And that’s precisely where he found one of this edition’s biggest attractions: four stages and completely different atmospheres spread across Samil. A distance that initially seemed like a problem until an electric motorbike from Motiños Vigo allowed him to quickly jump from one point to another.
In a matter of minutes, he could go from electronic music among the trees to standing in front of an enthusiastic teenage crowd giving it their all for L0rna, and then finish by photographing proposals and artists linked to more classic and local scenes. "It was a lot of fun. You’d go from a rave-like spot in the middle of the forest to 15-year-olds going wild with L0rna". That variety ended up becoming one of the elements that best define his selection.
There was even a small photographic sacrifice: the Samil sunsets. Dani had to use that time slot to have dinner before the first concert, so he was able to photograph some of them, but not make the most of them as much as he would have liked. When the sun finally went down, his most intense part of the work began.
For someone who got to know Marisquiño from the other side of the fence, this edition inevitably had something special about it. "Working from the inside is amazing", he sums up. Living today thousands of kilometers from Vigo (in Dubai), he is clear that it was worth coming home for a few days to experience the festival from a completely different perspective. And these are some of the images he took from the music of #OM26.
